hope restored

We did it. We really did it.

I haven’t felt this much relief since Mom woke up from her 5-day coma and she wasn’t brain dead. I want to cry, scream, and jump up and down for all the hope that has been restored today. I know we still have A LOT of work to do, but a big and important step was made toward decency. Hopefully the first of many. And today is the first day I have felt optimistic in a very fucking long time. Today, I’m leaning hard into that newfound optimism and the possibility of a future of building an inclusive democracy.

And also, WE HAVE A FEMALE VICE PRESIDENT for the first time in history!!! A BLACK FEMALE VICE PRESIDENT!!!! Kamala Harris, a woman of grace and strength and power. I am incredibly inspired by her and I can’t wait to see what this country looks like under her and Joe’s lead.
